Reflection
As I wrote the Memorial on fargo, I saw many ways of researching this certain subject. I was searching for a problem that had to deal with the Fargo city area, this in its self was a tough task because everyone already knows about the major problems in fargo. Its a big town with a small town feel. The during the research i was constantly looking for ways to change and help the city area. The Memorial is all about solving a problem, and with a Memorial you are looking for many ways to solve a problem that isn't talked about much. Action research is just that, the fact that your attempting to solve a problem. The statue is showing another part of action research by trying to improve the area and it surrounding by sending a message to all those who see it.
Facebook is in ways the same are the Memorial, they both are constantly looking for ways to improve and ways to solve problems. The Memorial reflects reality much better then Facebook. The things in the Memorial aren't usually discussed through a computer but more face to face where people can really get down to business and have a meaningful conversation to where Facebook is all smoke and mirrors in my opinion. The Memorials are in many ways much deeper then things on Facebook. Yes both to the two are about bring people together and so forth but the things on face book don't capture how people really feel. Sure they can write sad post on Facebook to get some cheese replies from friends and family but the Memorials are about the facts and looking for things to improve. The only thing I can see Facebook improving is contact between family members. Facebook is really just a fake world for people to get away from their every day to day lives that are so awful. The Memorials really lay the facts on and can open people eyes to what maybe going on in their community, maybe even in their own back yard. I Would say there is more negative to the facebook then the memorials but both still have some positive features. Such as the Memorials trying to improve the around you. Then Facebook trying to improve the structure and family life of millions around the world. So Memorial is the world around us as Facebook is the family around us.
